Cylinder Rekey Clamp

$39.95

A new and faster way to rekey Whitco & Lockwood security door cylinders.

This device allows the springs and all pins to be tipped out of the cylinder into a channel without any handling, ready to be rekeyed and tipped back into the cylinder within half the time and half the handling required. All you need to do is remove the bottom pins that aren’t needed, replace them and put it back into the clamp, close it and tap the springs and bottom pins back in and its done.

Locksmiths are always trying to find a faster and more cost-effective way of rekeying locks. Any advantage that gets the job done faster means more dollars in our pockets. Whether rekeying onsite or in the workshop it will cut down the time it takes. It will also do other brand cylinders but the spacing is specific for the main brands above.

1. Remove the top cap that holds in all the pins and springs.
2. Place the cylinder onto the clamp and make sure it is seated correctly.
3. Close up the clamp and tip it all upside down (hinge downwards), bumping the clamp gently to make the springs and pins fall out, do this gently so as to not damage the clamp.
4. Once you’ve done this lay the clamp flat on the bench and open it up to see if they have all come out, if not close it up and give it another couple of taps. A pick or blank key can also be used to push any sticky pins out.
5. Remove the bottom pins so you are left with the springs and top pins in the channels on the clamp. Reload the Cylinder with the required bottom pins as needed.
6. Place the cylinder with new bottom pins back onto the clamp, with springs and top pins ready to go back in.
7. Close the clamp and hold it upright (hinge up) so the springs and bottom pins can fall back into the bible. Give it a couple of gentle taps on the bench as needed to help them fall back in.
8. Place the clamp flat on the work bench and open to make sure they have all gone back in.
9. Refit the cap and screw it down, test the key is working.
